For A time We Were All Human

None of us will ever be the same and for a time we were all human.
It was a level playing field, all just as vulnerable, all just as valuable,  all just as human.
There were no differences anymore, all lives were worth saving.
If I hadn't lived through it and felt it, I never would have thought that kind of oneness was possible.
9/11 was the first look into the genuine reality of our vulnerability as a people and a nation but were saved and buoyed by the overwhelming triumph of the human spirit in the American people.

If anything, I was glad to be alive to experience that stunning piece of this history, to actually feel tethered, supported and connected to the people of this great country. To see with my own eyes, in the face of horror and devastation, we would be there for each other.
We proved it.  I saw it.  I was graced to have lived it...it serves as an anchor for me.
There are some things you just can't get in the retelling.

  1. That single event spread many seeds at the expense of many innocent people. I pray that they continue grow and bear good fruit. TB
