Today is a perfect day for my Dachshund barrette!

On my birthday, one cold March afternoon, my family indulged me on a jaunt down Madison Ave, accompanying me into any and every storefront that caught my fancy. I do believe the hour in Dennis Basso put the  nail in the coffin for  that ever happening again, although it was great fun.
However, the highlight of the day was stumbling into this fabulous specialty barrette store...very small, very French.and very perfect! Wall to wall displays of the most beautiful romantic french barrettes you could ever dream of. Studying everything with as much time and detail as my tired family would allow. I found my barrette... a dachshund in tortoise with a rhinestone collar. Ooh la la, now that I must have!
As I stood hovering shoulder to shoulder with a women who was processing the very same purchase of the very same barrette, we made the usual exchanges. You know, when you and the someone next to you are adoring something that you can't wait to own and absolutely must have. "Excuse me" I said,"do I know you?" of which she replied, "I'm an actress".  Ah ha, yes indeed you are, of course you are, you are Jane Seymour. ( They always just look familiar to you like you met them at a cocktail party or something.) So Jane and I happily chose our barrettes, delighted with our purchases, bid each other farewell and hit the Avenue.
She, yes indeed, is just as lovely and just as beautiful as she looks on the screen,
and we,  have the same dachshund barrette donning a fancy French  rhinestone collar!
So, with fall coming on and my hair getting long, it seemed a perfect day for my dachshund barrette.
